I know this comes painfully late but I was hoping to update these things in order.

In my defense between the 2 short films we’ve finished, the one we’re working on, travel before, for, and after the weddings, study, and working full time I’ve been keeping busy.

I will be updating the website and youtube with the short film and slide-show for their wedding as soon as possible.

My brother Daniel and I were flattered to be asked by Rebecca Denhollander if we would be interested in filming, editing and scoring a short script she had written for Jacob ad Rachael’s Wedding reception.

We of course agreed, Daniel taking charge of the later request while I attempted the former two, and this short film was the result.

This was only the second film the Soncas has attempted without our stalwart leader (Stephen) who was preoccupied at the time with some matrimonious ideas of his own.

It was filmed in one day, and we didn’t have our usually camera, however thanks to an excellent screenplay and and great acting on the part of the main characters I think is all came together.

Enjoy, and please rate and comment!!!

- JIMMY BROYDEN Stunt Coordinator and Stuntman in over 100 films and Founder and Director of On Fire Films and Impact Stunts For Christ.

“First time filmmakers The Casson Brothers have done it! A Matter Of Time is an incredibly intense action packed adrenaline ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Hunted by a merciless government hitman, four friends must take a stand for the one thing left fighting for. They must protect a precious briefcase containing one of the last remaining unedited copies of the Bible. It was filmed with one camera, on a super low budget of approximately $8,000 from their own pockets and the Brothers did the acting, editing, musical score etc. themselves. They brought me in to Stunt Coordinate and execute the big car gags and Swat stunts. The rest of the Stunts they set up and executed themselves……….This film is loaded with behind the scenes and special features. As Flywheel (2003) was to the Kendrick Brothers and Duel (1971) was to Steven Spielberg, A Matter Of Time is to The Casson Brothers. If this is what they can produce on a shoestring budget and with minimal experience, imagine what their future endeavours will be.”

- EDWIN L. CARPENTER of www.dove.org

It is August 2030 in Canada. Christians cannot speak their views on homosexuality and what the Bible says about it. Military groups are chasing down the Christian groups who are attempting to spread the word of God underground. Many are dying for their faith. With the ever changing editions of the Bible, one man notes you can hardly tell it is the Bible. A pastor in the film preaches a wishy washy sermon that doesn’t offend anyone and really doesn’t say anything.

This futuristic vision certainly makes some points about holding fast to one’s beliefs. It does, however, feature a lot of fighting and military scenes and it is for more of a sophisticated audience. The movie also includes some rather blasphemous statements against the Bible and the author (God) but they are uttered by the bad guys in the film. The film does realistically show what could happen in the future. It should be noted it has a twist in the end. Because of its important message, we recommend it for ages twelve and above and gladly award this movie our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal. Let’s hope it is not a matter of time for people sitting on a fence to decide to get on fire for their faith and convictions.

I have trouble believing this was your VERY FIRST film because it seemed to polished and basically “too good” to be a career conception. I’ve been to 12 festivals this year alone and I don’t recall seeing a film that had better pacing than yours. Even the Hollywood movies still manage to fall victim of bad story and bad pacing A.K.A boring and slow! I watched the movie twice and for what it’s worth I think you have the best potential I’ve ever seen…….I would really like to see what you make in the future!
